Going back home for Christmas was the best present for these days. Although Covid is around us, I spent an amazing time in Catalonia. I didn’t realise how much I missed the good weather and my language (and the tasty food!) until I came back. The experience of living in Poland is amazing, but let’s be honest: the weather is horrible and the language is difficult.
The winter in Poland is hard, it’s super cold and at 4 pm is completely dark. I don’t like it, I’m not used to it. Now, I enjoyed the sun and the good weather again. It was 20 degrees here! I wasn’t conscious about that, but the bad weather affected my behaviour. Thankfully, these days I recharged my battery.
Being in Catalonia again was not only to meet my family and friends again but also to meet myself again. I needed some personal days, to enjoy my loneliness without thinking about the polish language, the cold or the school’s workshops.
Sometimes it felt weird because I was at home but right now is not my home. Things have changed, people’s life has continued, so sometimes it was difficult to realise that nothing is exactly the same. But that’s life!
I hope my return to Poland will not be difficult. I know that I will miss the sun and the tasty food, but that’s part of the experience!
